UKATA Duty to Manage - Asbestos Appointed Persons

This course aims to cover the duty to manage asbestos in non-domestic premises.<br>

  • Regulation 4 CAR2012 ΓÇô Duty to manage asbestos in non-domestic premises 
  • Asbestos surveying 
  • Survey report 
  • Management control options 
  • Reviewing and communicating the management plan 
  • Working with ACMs that requires a license and work with ACMs that is notifiable 
  • Material and priority risk assessment algorithms 
  • Asbestos management plan

Course Aims

This course provides delegates with the knowledge and practical skills to undertake the management of asbestos-containing materials within the buildings that they are responsible for. 

This course aims to cover the responsibilities of the duty to manage asbestos in non-domestic premises. 

It requires delegates, as the duty holder, to identify the location and condition of asbestos in non-domestic premises and to manage the risk to prevent harm to anyone who works on the building or to building occupants. 

It also explains what is required of delegates, who have a duty to co-operate with the main duty holder, to enable them to comply with the regulation. 

This course requires an appointed person to assist in the management of asbestos containing materials in buildings according to HSG 264. HSG 264, requires delegates to have the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively manage asbestos in buildings.

Certification

Delegates successfully completing this course will receive a UKATA Accredited Programme Certificate. These are valid within 6 months.
