Solar PV and Electrical Energy Storage Systems (EESS) - BPEC

Training course aimed at experienced electricians who wish to build their knowledge and skills within Solar PV and EESS Systems.<br>

Agenda

The course will consist of both practical and theoretical components that relate to the below: 
Solar PV (3 Days)
  • Design and system performance.
  • Installing a solar photovoltaic D.C circuit in accordance with the manufacturerΓÇÖs guidance regulatory requirements and industry recognised procedures, to include the positioning, fixing, and connecting the components.
  • Inspecting and testing
  • Commissioning 
  • Handing over a solar photovoltaic system 
  • Undertaking routine service and maintenance 
  • Undertaking fault diagnostic work 
  • Undertaking fault rectification work

EESS (2 days)
  • Introduction to Electrical Energy Storage Systems (EESS) (Battery Storage)
  • Legislation, standards and industry guidance
  • Preparation for Design and Installation
  • Initial Verification Methods Relevant to EESS
  • Handover and DNO Notification

Course Aims

This 5 day course will provide the knowledge and understanding of how to design, install, fault find, and maintain Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems and Electrical Energy Storage Systems (EESS) to high standards, in line with industry standards and codes of practice.

Certification

The delegate will receive a BPEC accredited certificate upon completion.

Who Should Attend

This course is for practising electricians, electrical technicians and engineers with experience of electrical installations, and associated inspections and testing. All candidates MUST be able to demonstrate the below and WILL be required to have and provide evidence of the below:
Trainees should hold a formal craft qualification e.g.
  • N/SVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (Buildings and Structures) and BS 7671: 2018 Requirements for Electrical Installations (18th Edition) qualification or equivalent earlier certification that includes Inspection & Testing and current BS 7671: 2018 Requirements for Electrical Installations (18th Edition) qualification.
  • Trainees can also enrol for the course if they meet the requirements of the Electrotechnical Assessment Specification (EAS).
 
Please be advised that Stand-alone technical certificates/vocationally related qualifications (VRQ) (non-competency based) are NOT acceptable
