Solar Photovoltaic - BPEC Accredited

The course provides the training required to design, install and commission Solar Photovoltaic systems. <br>

Agenda

  • Design and system performance
  • Installing a solar photovoltaic D.C. circuit in accordance with manufacturerΓÇÖs guidance regulatory requirements and industry recognised procedures, to include the positioning, fixing and connection of components
  • Inspecting and testing
  • Commissioning
  • Handing over a solar photovoltaic system
  • Undertaking routine service and maintenance
  • Undertaking fault diagnostic work
  • Undertaking fault rectification work

Course Aims

The aim of this course is to provide the knowledge and understanding to be able to design, install, inspect & test and maintain a solar photovoltaic system. The practical element of the course involves the electrical testing required for the system and fitting a panel to an existing simulated roof mounting system. It does not involve work in relation to the roof structure, weight limits, bracket fixing, weather sealing or wind loads. This course will also demonstrate the level of competence required for entry onto a Microgeneration Certification Scheme for solar PV.

As the renewable energy market grows, this course does not cover newer technologies that may be appearing on the market.

Certification

Delegates successfully completing the course will receive a BPEC solar PV certificate.

Who Should Attend

This course is aimed at delegates whom are experienced electricians and meet the below pre-requirements criteria before attending the course.

Pre-requirements

  • Trainees should hold a formal craft qualification e.g. N/SVQ 3 in Electrical Installation (Building and Structures) or equivalent earlier certification that includes Inspection & Testing or a recognised Part P competence certification that includes Inspection & Testing and a BS7971:2018 Requirements for Electrical Installations (18th Edition) qualification.
  • Trainees can also enrol for the course if they meet the requirements of the Electrotechnical Assessment Specification (EAS).
  • Also by providing 2 yearsΓÇÖ experience with demonstrable evidence as well as being a member of a Competent Person Scheme (CPS)
