Agenda

By the end of the course, youΓÇÖll be able to: 

ΓÇó Identify and describe how vehicle mounted spraying equipment works.
ΓÇó Prepare and set up vehicle mounted/trailed spraying machines. 
ΓÇó Identify and describe how a spraying machine works. 
ΓÇó Choose and use the correct nozzles for any application. 
ΓÇó Set and calibrate the machine for a given application. 
ΓÇó Fill vehicle mounted spraying equipment safely. 
ΓÇó Clean and decontaminate all the equipment safely. 
ΓÇó Service the machine. 
ΓÇó Operate a spraying machine safely and effectively.

Course Aims

This course aims to provide the knowledge and skills to effectively handle, apply, and store pesticides using mounted/trailer boom spraying equipment. Pesticides are widely used in agriculture and horticulture, but they can be potentially harmful substances, so a thorough appreciation of safe working practices is vital. 

This is a hands-on course that includes both theory and practical elements which supply sufficient training to comply with pesticide regulations.

Certification

Upon completion of this course, delegates will receive a LANTRA accredited certificate that does not expire. However, it is advised and is business best practice that delegates attend a refresher course every 5 years.

Who Should Attend

Anyone with an interest or employment in agriculture, forestry, or horticulture who currently uses or wishes to use mounted/trailer boom spraying equipment. 

Due to the nature of the training a minimum level of fitness will be required for specific operations. Whilst we would not want to disadvantage you as a learner, it is an essential requirement.
