Ride On Mowers - LANTRA

LANTRA course with theory and practical training session and assessment covering the maintenance of ride on mowers, safety guidelines and appropriate techniques.<br>

Agenda

By the end of the course, youΓÇÖll be able to: 

ΓÇó Identify the risks associated with the use of different types of ride-on mowers. 
ΓÇó Select appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). 
ΓÇó Identify the controls and components. 
ΓÇó Carry out daily checks as indicated in the operatorΓÇÖs manual. 
ΓÇó Carry out pre-start checks. 
ΓÇó Identify and report any faults. 
ΓÇó Adjust the cutting mechanism to achieve the required standard. 
ΓÇó Operate the machine in a safe and competent manner. 
ΓÇó Perform after-use maintenance. 
ΓÇó Load and transport the machine (if appropriate).

Course Aims

This course aims to provide the knowledge to safely operate and maintain ride-on mowers with confidence. This is a hands-on course that includes both health and safety and practical elements which supply sufficient training to meet legal requirements.

Certification

Upon completion of this course, delegates will receive a LANTRA accredited certificate that does not expire. However, it is advised and is business best practice that delegates attend a refresher course every 5 years.

Who Should Attend

Anyone with an interest or employment in arboriculture, horticulture, landscaping, and grounds maintenance who may be required to operate a ride-on mower. 

You do not need any pre-requisites to attend this course. However, please note that due to the nature of the training a minimum level of fitness will be required for specific operations. Whilst we would not want to disadvantage you as a learner, it is an essential requirement.
