Pesticide Application Granular Applicator (PA4) - LANTRA

Agenda

By the end of this course, youΓÇÖll be able to: 

ΓÇó Identify and describe how granular applicators work. 
ΓÇó Prepare and set up granular applicators. 
ΓÇó Choose and use the correct type of applicator for a given product and situation. 
ΓÇó Set and check the application rate for an application. 
ΓÇó Fill the applicator accurately and safely. 
ΓÇó Operate the applicator safely and efficiently. 
ΓÇó Decontaminate the machinery safely. 
ΓÇó Service the machinery. 
ΓÇó Select the correct PPE when using granules. 
ΓÇó Clean and store machinery correctly. 
ΓÇó Accurately record information.

Course Aims

This course aims to provide the knowledge and skills to effectively handle, apply, and store pesticides using mounted/trailer granular applicators. Pesticides are widely used in agriculture and horticulture, but they can be potentially harmful substances, so a thorough appreciation of safe working practices is vital. 

This is a hands-on course that includes both theory and practical elements which supply sufficient training to comply with pesticide regulations.

Certification

Upon completion of this course, delegates will receive a LANTRA accredited certificate that does not expire. However, it is advised and is business best practice that delegates attend a refresher course every 5 years.

Who Should Attend

Anyone with an interest or employment in agriculture, forestry, or horticulture who currently uses or wishes to use mounted/trailer granular applicators. Due to the nature of the training a minimum level of fitness will be required for specific operations. Whilst we would not want to disadvantage you as a learner, it is an essential requirement.
