Personal Track Safety (PTS) - Initial Assessment Day (Practical Event)

  • Demonstrate the ability to interpret correctly the Rule Book GE/RT 8000 Series or Guide to Personal Track Safety or PTS Key Point Card NR9922
  • Demonstrate an understanding and ability to follow a Safe System of Work
  • Track visit & assessment
  • Knowledge & verbal assessment

Course Aims

This industry recognised course will provide delegates with the knowledge and understanding required to work safely on or near the railway.

The PTS course comprises two components. There is an e-learning training package, followed by a practical training day. 

Only an authorised Sentinel co-ordinator may make bookings on this course.

Certification

All course results will be notified to the Rail Sentinel database and the Sentinel Smart Card of the individual will be updated.


Training provided by Intertrain (RTAS 0460)

Who Should Attend

Those who need to work on the Network Rail controlled railway infrastructure.

Pre-requisites

Delegates must be sponsored by an approved organisation, be registered on the Sentinel Database and must be a minimum age of 16, meet the medical requirements of Network Rail Standard NR/L2/OHS/00124 Medical Fitness Level 1 and meet the requirements of Network Rail Standard NR/ L1/OHS/051 (Drugs & Alcohol).

Delegates must have successfully completed the PTS e-learning component which must also be entered into the NCCA Database prior to attendance. 

Please be advised, a negative Drug & Alcohol test MUST have been carried out no more than 3 months prior to attending the PTS Initial (Practical) training event. Delegates will not be eligible to attend if the D&A test has been carried out beyond this period.
