• Introduction to the qualification, usually taking place at an external centre ΓÇô this will include paperwork for sign-up and registering with the awarding body.
• Delegates will be provided with Knowledge Packs that they may complete in their own time; identifying the delegateΓÇÖs current knowledge and skill set.
• Following Completion of the Knowledge Packs, the Practical Observation will begin. This will be on the learnerΓÇÖs site, and may include visits from your assessor who will observe you working and offer support. Delegates may also be asked to record observations on camera for review by the assessor, on practical elements such as pre-shift and operation checks on the machinery.
• There will then be a collection of Witness Testimonies (from site SupervisorΓÇÖs / ManagerΓÇÖs etc.) and Additional Evidence by the assessor.
• Finally, a one-to-one Professional Discussion will take place between the assessor and the delegate.

After Assessment, the assessor will cross-match all evidence collected with the awarding body standards and sign-off the delegate, if all standards have been met.

IQA will quality check the delegateΓÇÖs portfolio.

Completion of this NVQ will allow you to apply for a Gold CSCS Trade card.

This qualification is aimed at those who install doors, windows and conservatories or curtain walling. The qualification is at Level 3 and should be taken by those who are experienced installers capable of dealing with a wide range of problems, including working with installations that have complex requirements, and who can deal with all aspects of an installation, including the identification and rectification of technical problems. Delegates may be required to show their skills and knowledge in assessing products or work procedures and identifying possible improvements.

Delegates may take a technical or supervisory role, particularly in relation to less-experienced installers. They will also work closely with colleagues and have well-developed knowledge of the industry and the regulations and legislation that apply.
