NPORS - Rear Dump Truck (N205)

Delegate receive training in the use of a Rear Dump Truck with the aim to enable successful completion of NPORS practical and theory assessments.

Agenda

Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will be able to:

  • Describe the nature of the sector within industry and their role and responsibilities as a plant operator
  • Name and explain the purpose of principal components, the basic construction, controls and terminology
  • Conform to plant manufacturerΓÇÖs requirements as per the operatorΓÇÖs handbook and understand relevant regulation/legislation
  • Undertake all pre-use checks
  • Configure and set for travel (site and highway)
  • Travel over rough, undulating ground, steep inclines and level surfaces ΓÇô loaded and unloaded
  • Manoeuvre in confined spaces whilst carrying loads
  • Ensure the suitability of the tipping and loading area
  • Explain actions required for hazards, underground and overhead services
  • Position to receive loads
  • Comply with plant loading procedures
  • Ensure load integrity and security
  • Transfer loads to different locations
  • Discharge loads into trenches and over edges
  • Maintain safe and tidy working areas
  • Carry out shut down and securing procedures
  • Explain the loading and unloading procedures for machine transporting

Duration

Novice delegate ΓÇô 4 days
Experienced Worker Test ΓÇô 1 day of testing

Course Aims

This course aims to provide delegates with the skills required to operate a Rear Dump Truck.

It is suitable for operators of all abilities and those who have previously received no formal training or instruction.

The course is delivered through a combination of classroom-based theory and practical hands on training.

Certification

Traditional NPORS Card ΓÇô Refresher training is advised every 3 years.
Upon successful completion of this course, delegates applying for NPORS/CSCS Card will be awarded a NPORS Red Trained Operators Card valid for 2 years. During this time delegates will be required to register for a relevant NVQ. Upon successfully completing of the NVQ, delegates will be awarded a Competent Operators Card valid for 5 years. A CPD record / operator logbook will also be issued which will need to be kept up to date.

Who Should Attend

This course is suitable for any delegate wishing to gain an NPORS Rear Dump Truck operations certificate.

Experienced workers, categorised as those with having either 18 months provable work experience and/or 6 months consistent daily experience in the category, will be able to undertake a Experienced Workers Test (EWT). Completion of a EWT will allow experienced workers to take the NPORS Theory and Practical tests required for a NPORS certificate.

Prerequisites

Traditional NPORS card
ΓÇó Novice ΓÇô No pre-requisites
ΓÇó Experienced Workers - either 18 months provable work experience and/or 6 months consistent daily experience in the category.
NPORS / CSCS Card
In addition to the above, delegates must have an in date relevant CITB Health, Safety and Environment Touchscreen Test. Failure to attend with this qualification may result in you being denied entry to the course and forfeiture of all fees.
A good understanding of spoken and written English is also required.
