NPORS - Lorry Loader (N107)

NPORS Lorry Loader course provides practical and theory training sessions and assessment in the techniques involved with Lorry Loading.

Agenda

Upon successful completion of this course delegates will be able to:


  • Carry out pre start and running checks of the carrier vehicle & lifting appliance
  • Configure the lorry loader & carrier vehicle for site/road travel
  • Manoeuvre the carrier vehicle into position in order to carry out lifting exercises
  • Set up carrier vehicle to carry out lifts at minimum & maximum radii
  • Load plant vehicle in accordance with industry practices
  • Secure loads on vehicle bed in accordance with industry practices
  • Remove and reattach bucket
  • Place machine in and out of service condition
  • Explain loading and unloading procedures

Duration

Novice delegate ΓÇô 2 days
Experienced Worker Test ΓÇô 1 day of testing

Course Aims

This course aims to provide the knowledge and skills required to operate and Lorry Loader.

It is suitable for operators of all abilities and those who have previously received no formal training or instruction.

The course is delivered through a combination of classroom-based theory and practical hands on training.

Certification

Traditional NPORS Card ΓÇô Refresher training is advised every 3 years.

Upon successful completion of this course, delegates applying for NPORS/CSCS Card will be awarded a NPORS Red Trained Operators Card valid for 2 years. During this time delegates will be required to register for a relevant NVQ. Upon successfully completing of the NVQ, delegates will be awarded a Competent Operators Card valid for 5 years. A CPD record / operator logbook will also be issued which will need to be kept up to date.

Who Should Attend

This course is suitable for any delegate wishing to gain an NPORS Lorry Loader certificate.

Experienced workers, categorised as those with having either 18 months provable work experience and/or 6 months consistent daily experience in the category, will be able to undertake a Experienced Workers Test (EWT). Completion of a EWT will allow experienced workers to take the NPORS Theory and Practical tests required for a NPORS certificate.

Prerequisites

Traditional NPORS card
ΓÇó Novice ΓÇô No pre-requisites
ΓÇó Experienced Workers - either 18 months provable work experience and/or 6 months consistent daily experience in the category.

NPORS / CSCS Card
In addition to the above, delegates must have an in date relevant CITB Health, Safety and Environment Touchscreen Test. Failure to attend with this qualification may result in you being denied entry to the course and forfeiture of all fees.
A good understanding of spoken and written English is also required.
