Course Aims

This course aims to equip delegates with the skills and knowledge to safely sling loads and give correct signals to the crane operator. 

By the end of the course, successful delegates are expected to know: 
  • Their statutory duties under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 
  • The importance of sling angle in relation to safe working load 
  • The importance of weight and centre of gravity in relation to the safe working load of the lifting tackle 
  • Signalling codes for slingers

Certification

Delegates who successfully complete this course will be awarded with a certificate valid for 3 years. 

Optional Accreditation:

For those seeking formal accreditation, NPORS certification is available, valid for 5 years. Please let us know when booking so we can explain the process and applicable fees. 

Who Should Attend

This course is aimed at delegates who will be guiding crane operators on site, particularly when the operator's view is limited. It is suitable for those new to the role of a slinger/signaller and anyone needing a practical understanding of lifting operations.
