Level 2 Award for Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry - Top Up

Training to enable a delegate to apply for their SIA licence renewal and continue to undertake work as a Close Protection Operative in the private security industry.

Agenda

The Close Protection Operatives (Top Up) Course is split into four sections:

  • Principles of Terror Threat Awareness in the Private Security Industry (10-Question Multiple Choice Exam)
  • Principles of Working as a Door Supervisor for Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry (10-Question Multiple Choice Exam)
  • Application of Physical Intervention Skills in the Private Security Industry (30-Question Exam and Practical Assessment)
  • Application of Physical Intervention Skills for Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry (30-Question Exam and Practical Assessment)

All four components must have been successfully completed and passed to enable delegates to apply to the SIA for their licence.

Course Aims

This course is designed for delegates who currently hold a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) working as a Close Protection Operative and are required to remain up to date with licence-linked qualification requirements. The course enables delegates to retain their SIA licence by meeting their mandatory top-up requirements as Close Protection Operatives.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the Level 2 Award for Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry (Top Up) course, delegates will receive a certificate confirming that they have met the necessary requirements to renew their Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence.

The certificate obtained is valid for three years.
Delegates are required to renew their SIA licence every three years to continue working legally in the industry.
