Course Aims

To provide delegates with the knowledge required to work safely with ladders and step ladders in the course of their daily duties.

NOTE

Completing the e-learning alone does not qualify you as a ladder user; industry standards require both the knowledge gained in the e-learning theory session and assessed use of the equipment to demonstrate proficiency. Once you have completed the e-learning, you must also complete the practical assessment and testing at a Ladder Association approved HSS Training centre.  On successful achievement, of all three parts, we will apply for your Ladder Association Certification and ID Card.

To take advantage of this, please follow the below steps:

  1. Get in touch with us on 0345 605 0006 or click below to book - at this time you will be charged the full course cost
  2. Complete the theory e-learning module which can be done anytime, anywhere and on any device, at a pace which suits you (compatible with PCs, Macs, tablets and smartphones on any modern internet browser)
  3. Once you have completed and successfully passed the e-learning, please contact us to book your practical training and assessment at one of our Ladder Association approved centres - you will be asked to provide evidence of successful completion of the e-learning certificate which is created / printed at the end of your e-learning
Delegates are required to attend an HSS Training Ladder Association approved training centre within 90 days of completing the e-learning module to sit their theory exam and undertake practical training and assessment [this has been temporarily increased due to Covid-19]
  4. You will need to bring a copy of your ΓÇÿcertificate of completionΓÇÖ to the course for the trainer to verify, without this you will be refused entry
  5. Upon entry to the course, you will be asked to complete an open book multiple choice questionnaire which is based on the knowledge gained from the e-learning.  This will be followed by a practical training and assessment session, with the duration dependent upon knowledge and experience

To find the next available date at a centre near you, please contact us on 0345 605 0006 or email training@hss.com.

  • This course is also available as a half-day tutor led Ladder Association Users course, please click here.

You must have attended the Ladder Association - Ladders & Stepladders User course and have a valid LadderCard prior to attending the Inspection course.

Please note: The e-learning module must be completed within 6 months of the date of booking

Certification

Having completed the e-learning theory module, delegates will be issued with a 'certificate of completion'.  Delegates will then need to contact HSS Training to sit their theory exam and undertake practical training and assessment in one of our training centres within 90 days of completing the e-learning module [temporarily increased due to Covid-19].  The follow up event is a half day face to face session with practical training and assessment.

To find the next available date at a centre near you, please contact us on 0345 605 0006 or email training@hss.com.

All delegates will still be expected to complete a theory test when they arrive at a training centre to verify that they have the knowledge to continue to the practical element of the course.  Delegates will be required to bring their e-learning 'certificate of completion' with them on the day.

Successful completion of this course will result in the issuing of a Ladder Association Ladder UserΓÇÖs ID card and Certificate of Training valid for 5 years.
