General Safety

  • State safety tips related to various aspects of laboratory safety

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • State which parts of the PPE regulations that affect you
  • Identify various PPE that is appropriate for laboratory work

First Aid

  • State the common injuries that result from laboratory accidents
  • State the first aid procedures to follow for common laboratory injuries

Course Aims

This course is delivered electronically and will provide delegates with safety and first aid related tips in the event of emergencies, and an understanding of hazardous material signage in laboratories.

Interactive Course

Each course includes a selection of interactive elements and mini quizzes to test the knowledge of the user throughout to keep their mind focused on the subject.
The clear, concise and informative content is presented in an easy-to-understand way to ensure maximum content retention. Users will receive informative advice and guidance on the chosen subject and will be tested on their understanding of the subject at the end of the course by completing the compulsory self-test.

Minimum System Specifications

As with every computer based system, we have some minimum requirements to allow for optimum performance.

These specifications are as follows:

  • Users will need to use a PC and a web browser to access the system
  • The userΓÇÖs PC should be running Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7
  • Only Internet Explorer is supported (Versions 7 +)
  • Although not essential, it is recommended that the userΓÇÖs PC has audio to fully benefit from the multimedia course content

The use of Apple Mac computers, thin-client terminals / mainframe workstations (Cytrix type set-up) or browsers other than Internet Explorer are not supported.

Certification

Delegates successfully completing the course can print an HSS Training certificate of achievement and the multiple choice test results.
