Course Aims

This course provides advanced training for experienced IPAF MEWP Operators through the use of Virtual Reality (VR) simulations to increase their knowledge of working in high risk and challenging environments such as steelwork, confined overhead spaces or challenging terrain.

This IPAF PAL+ advanced course with practical VR training session and assessment covers the dual powered access categories - Mobile Vertical (3a) + Mobile Boom (3b).

Each VR simulator and headset includes replica equipment controls and movement, creating a fully immersive and realistic experience within a risk free and controlled environment.

This cutting edge training method removes the risk of hazards, allowing delegates to make mistakes, evaluate and learn without the safety implications involved in live training. 

VR is at the forefront of modern technology making it the safest, most simple and cost effective way to re-train whilst reducing carbon emissions by avoiding unnecessary use of powered access equipment.

Certification

Delegates successfully completing the course will receive a digital IPAF ePAL Certificate and Powered Access Licence (PAL) Card valid for 5 years.  

HSS Training will also provide each delegate with an easy-to-use report expanding on the specific areas requiring additional improvement or attention as well as a risk profile to allow employers an overview of work assignments best suited to their skill level. 

IPAF ePAL

From 1st June '21 all IPAF cards & certificates applied for will be issued in digital format via the ePAL app.

Operators can download the app for free to Apple iOS and Android devices and use it to view and access their digital PAL Cards, logbooks and IPAF safety guides. Our Trainers will talk you through this process at the start of your IPAF course.

HSS Training will be using the NEW IPAF Digital PAL Card Licence Application (ePAL) to process all IPAF certification.

  • The IPAF Digital PAL Card Licence Application (ePAL) is a mandatory item when making a booking, charged at ┬ú29.50 per delegate.
  • IPAF Physical PAL Card Licence Application (Printed PAL Card) ΓÇô If required add the item ΓÇ£ Printed PAL Card and Certificate ΓÇ£ to your basket - additional cost ┬ú7.50

Who Should Attend

This course is aimed at delegates who work in high risk or challenging environments e.g. steelworks, confined spaces and challenging terrain. Delegates MUST hold an valid PAL Operator card in the relevant categories - 3a + 3b.
 
CPCS Blue card is also accepted if within date.
