Who Should Attend

Platform engineers or anyone who is responsible for the safety and maintenance of powered access equipment (MEWP or MCWP) and for ensuring that examinations have been carried out.

In order to assess the eligibility of any CAP applicant, the below form must be completed and sent to trainingsales@hss.com along with a copy of your current CV and copies of all certificates/training which have been referenced on the application. Once these have been reviewed and accepted by our quality assurance team, our sales team will be in contact to discuss booking the training course for you.

As the assembly and use of MEWPs, MCWPs and Hoists can be physically demanding, users should be physically fit and in good health and should, generally, not have problems with eyesight or hearing, heart disease, high blood pressure, epilepsy, fear of heights/vertigo, giddiness/difficulty with balance, impaired limb function, alcohol or drug dependence or psychiatric illness.

If any candidates for MEWP, MCWP and Hoist assessments have any problems with literacy or language comprehension, or have any doubts about their fitness to use MEWPs, MCWPs or Hoists, they must tell their employer. This would not necessarily prevent them from using MEWPs, MCWPs or Hoists, but their employer must conduct an assessment and put adequate measures in place to take account of any difficulties they may have.
