Duration:

This is a 1 day course.

To provide delegates with the skills and knowledge required to understand and follow safe systems of work, interpret utility plans and to carry out the location of underground services in accordance with HSE HSG47, demonstrating safe working practices including the safe operation of C.A.T. GEN 4/eCAT4 Cable Avoidance Tool and Signal Generator (GENNY).

Delegates successfully completing the course will be issued with a Certification by City & Guilds after 28 days.

Managers, Supervisors and Operatives in construction, utilities, telecommunications and petrochemical industries who are required to locate underground apparatus during planned excavations.

Managers and Supervisors required to plan and issue permits to excavate should also complete Unit 1: Managing, Planning, Surveying & Issuing of Permit as a prerequisite to attending this course.
