Hand Held Hedge Trimmer - LANTRA

LANTRA course with theory and practical training session and assessment covering the maintenance of Hand Held Hedge trimmer, safety guidelines and appropriate techniques.<br>

Agenda

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:


ΓÇó Produce a site-specific risk assessment for hedge trimmer operations

ΓÇó Identify the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required

ΓÇó Identify the health and safety features required on a hedge trimmer

ΓÇó Identify defects on a hedge trimmer and decide which the operator can remedy and which require a service engineerΓÇÖs attention

ΓÇó Correctly carry out all routine maintenance in accordance with the machine manufacturerΓÇÖs information and/or this workbook

ΓÇó Prepare the hedge trimmer for use with the correct fuel/oil mix

ΓÇó Start the hedge trimmer from both hot and cold start in a safe manner

ΓÇó State the possible hazards/risks when carrying out maintenance or operational tasks

ΓÇó Maintain the hedge trimmer in a safe and efficient working condition

ΓÇó Adjust the hedge trimmer for safe and comfortable operation where a harness is used

ΓÇó Operate the hedge trimmer in a safe manner, having regard for the safety of the public, property and environmental factors
 
ΓÇó Organise the site and use a systematic method of working where possible

Course Aims

The aim of this one-day course is to provide delegates with the knowledge and skills required to safely operate and maintain hedge trimmers. This is a hands-on course that includes both health and safety and practical elements which supply sufficient training to meet the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations.

Certification

Upon completion of this course, delegates will receive a LANTRA accredited certificate that does not expire. However, it is advised and is business best practice that delegates attend a refresher course every 5 years.

Who Should Attend

This course is aimed at delegates who are currently employed in the agriculture, horticulture, landscaping and grounds maintenance industries who currently operates, or will be required to operate a hand held hedge trimmer.
