Driver CPC - Driving in the UK, and Loading and Weight Distribution - Remote Learning

The driving in the UK module will provide driver with a fundamental understanding of the legal, health and safety and efficiency requirements that apply to those driving a commercial goods vehicle within the UK.<br>

Agenda

This course contains two modules and includes the following topics:

Driving Commercially in the UK:

  • The skills required to be a professional delivery driver
  • An introduction to driversΓÇÖ hours and road transport (working time) regulations
  • Staying safe in the transport industry
  • An introduction to fuel-efficient driving and safe driving skills


Load and Weight Distribution:

  • Methods for loading vehicles
  • Roles and responsibilities when loading a vehicle
  • Where a load should be placed on or in a vehicle
  • Gross vehicle weights and axle weights
  • Weight distribution
  • Re-evaluating weight distribution after delivery
  • Securing the load correctly
  • Types of restraints

Course Aims

This course is split into two modules Driving in the UK and Loading and Weight Distribution.

The ΓÇÿDriving in the UKΓÇÖ module will provide drivers with a fundamental understanding of the legal, health and safety, and efficiency requirements that apply to those driving a commercial goods vehicle within the UK.

The ΓÇÿLoading and Weight DistributionΓÇÖ module is designed to demonstrate the key aspects of how a vehicle is professionally and responsibly loaded and how to distribute the weight of the load on the vehicle. Upon successful completion of this training, drivers will understand the importance of weight distribution and correct loading procedures, along with the possible consequences of incorrectly loading.

Certification

Upon successful completion of this course, delegates will be presented with a printable certificate of competence that will last 5 years. To obtain your Driver Qualification Card (DQC), you must complete 35 hours worth of driver CPC modules.


Once you have completed all 35 hours of CPC modules, DVLA will issue your card automatically.

Who Should Attend

This course is aimed at those looking to obtain their Driver Qualification Card (DQC). This course will count 7 hours towards your mandatory 35 learning hours that you require for the DQC. This course is suitable for those who hold either a HGV or PCV license.
