Driver CPC - Congested City Driving, and Health and Safety - Remote Learning

The 'Congested City Driving' module provides delegates with a key understanding of how to reduce involvement in incidents.<br>

Agenda

This course contains two modules and includes the following topics:

Congested City Driving: 
  • Air pollution 
  • Inner city schemes 
  • Identifying hazards and safer driving 
  • Vulnerable road users in the urban environment 
  • Defensive driving 
  • Delivering in the city 
  • Diversions and roadworks 
  • Parking and loading legally

Introduction to Health and Safety: 
  • Introduction to Health & Safety 
  • Legal responsibilities 
  • Specific health & safety legislation (this includes manual handling, PPE, RIDDOR, & COSHH)

Course Aims

This course is split into two modules Congested City Driving and Introduction to Health and Safety. 

The ΓÇÿCongested City DrivingΓÇÖ module provides drivers with a better understanding of the key risks in urban areas with an aim to reduce the delegates involvement in incidents when travelling through cities. This course is aligned with the principles of the LoCITY Driving course. 

The ΓÇÿIntroduction to Health and SafetyΓÇÖ module gives an understanding of the driverΓÇÖs responsibilities and an overview of the rules and regulations. This course will give a clear outline of the delegates health and safety responsibilities that they should be aware of on a day-to-day basis.

Certification

Upon successful completion of this course, delegates will be presented with a printable certificate of competence that will last 5 years. To obtain your Driver Qualification Card (DQC), you must complete 35 hours worth of driver CPC modules. 

Once you have completed all 35 hours of CPC modules, DVLA will issue your card automatically.

Who Should Attend

This course is aimed at those looking to obtain their Driver Qualification Card (DQC). This course will count 7 hours towards your mandatory 35 learning hours that you require for the DQC. This course is suitable for those who hold either a HGV or PCV license. The ΓÇÿCongested City DrivingΓÇÖ module is aimed at those who regularly travel in urban areas.
