Theory

• Understand the legislation surrounding work at height and how this relates to them
• Understand the categories for safe work at height and the potential loads imposed on the equipment used
• Understand where the Fall Arrest System sits in this hierarchy and how it will function
• Understand equipment standards and how they relate to users demands and the function of the system
• Understand how equipment included in the System can be utilised in other situations
• Be able to carry out and understand the importance of pre-use inspection
• Understand the importance of mandatory inspection and record keeping by an impartial competent person
• Understand the complications of suspension and the importance of rescue provision when working at height

Practical

• Pre-use checks of the harness and system
• Fitting and adjustment of the Full Body Harness
• Attachment to the system
• Safe access onto the vehicle/structure
• Safe movement while on the vehicle/structure
• Storage of the system

• Vehicle Mounted Fall Arrest System

To provide delegates with the knowledge required to carry out pre-use checks and use the harness and system safely.

Delegates successfully completing the course will receive a digital certificate of attendance valid for 3 years. Paper certificate and photo ID card can be requested at an additional charge.

Delegates who need the use of a Fall Arrest system for access onto vehicles or structures.
 
Course Entry Criteria

All delegates must be able to certify that they are physically fit and have no medical conditions that might prevent them working at height. (A list of conditions that could affect practical training and work at height are available on request).

Delegates must be 18 years or over.
