Brushcutter/Trimmers - LANTRA

LANTRA course with theory and practical training session and assessment covering the skills required to operate brush cutters/ trimmers safely.<br>

Agenda

This course is run across on day and consists of both theory and practical elements: 

ΓÇó Risk assessment and emergency procedures. 
ΓÇó Health and safety guidelines and legislation. 
ΓÇó Personal protective equipment. 
ΓÇó Pre-use checks and machine safety features. 
ΓÇó Routine checks and maintenance.
ΓÇó Cutter maintenance. 
ΓÇó Start the machine and carry out safety checks. 
ΓÇó Preparation of site, machine, and materials. 
ΓÇó Operation of stump grinder. 
ΓÇó Unblocking stump grinder. 
ΓÇó Re-instatement of excavation and disposal of arisings. 
ΓÇó Clearing, transport, and storage Carry out basic operations using tractor mounted loader.

Course Aims

This course will provide delegates with the knowledge and understanding needed to operate and maintain Brushcutters/Trimmers. This is a two-day course that includes both practical skills and health & safety guidance including the appropriate PPE; helping reduce the dangers when operating this powerful machinery and how best to maintain a safe working environment.

Certification

Upon completion of this course, delegates will receive a LANTRA accredited certificate that does not expire. However, it is advised and is business best practice that delegates attend a refresher course every 5 years.

Who Should Attend

This course is suitable for anybody working or looking for work in arboriculture, forestry, horticulture, landscaping, or grounds maintenance industries. 

Due to the nature of the training a minimum level of fitness will be required for specific operations. Whilst we would not want to disadvantage you as a learner, it is an essential requirement.
