Please note:

The primary publication required on the day of the course is the 18TH EDITION BS 7671:2018+A2:2022 IET WIRING REGULATIONS. You can bring your own or this can be purchased from us before or on the day of the course.

Please Note:

If you have achieved the BS7671 certification 17th Edition (3rd Amendment: 2015) then you can attend the one day 18th Edition 1 Day Update course.

It is now a requirement that all electrical installations designed after 1 January 2019 comply with BS 7671:2018, 18th Edition.

This course ensures compliance and understanding of the 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671) which covers safe use and operation of all UK electrical installations and equipment - industrial, commercial and domestic.

Guidance

City & Guilds recommends the following:

1. If you have attended and passed the 17th Edition wiring regulations course in the last 12 months you CAN attend the 18th Edition 1 day update course
2. If you have been applying and practicing within the electrical industry since passing the 17th Edition 3rd Amendment and are fully conversant with the 17th Edition wiring regulations you CAN attend the 18th Edition 1 day update course
3. If you have attended the 17th Edition PRIOR to 2015, you will need to attend the FULL 3 day 18th Edition Course

Delegates successfully completing the Assessment will be issued with a HSS certificate or a 2382-18 certification by City & Guilds.

Assessment

IET wiring regulations book used during the assessment can contain the following:

• Highlighting of text
• Bookmarks (e.g. blank post-it notes, post-it notes numbered to indicate chapters or corners of pages folded)

IET wiring regulations book cannot contain the following:

• Sample exam questions, answers or diagrams
• Any writing in the regulations or accompanying written notes
• Notes, diagrams or any content that may in anyway advantage the delegate in answering questions within the exam

Those who have achieved BS7671 certification (17th Edition - 3rd amendment) after 2015, wishing to update their knowledge and understanding to be compliant and conversant with the new IET Wiring Regulations.

Delegates must hold a valid and in-date Requirements for Electrical Installations - City & Guilds (2382-15) 17th Edition certificate.

Those over the age of 16 years can undertake this course.
